Mythical Games to launch new USDC-based Pulse Market

An email sent out to Blankos Block Party NFT holders has revealed that Mythical Games is going to be launching a new marketplace.

Called Pulse Market, it’s described as “Mythical’s new trading experience” in which everything will be priced in the USDC stablecoin.

Currently, all of Mythical’s games such as FIFA Rivals and Pudgy Party, use the Mythical Market, in which assets are priced in the volatile MYTH token, the price of which has dropped 91% over the past 12 months.

Mythical Market’s infrastructure runs on the Mythos Chain, which itself is part of the Polkadot blockchain. It’s not clear whether Pulse Market will also run on Mythos Chain, but USDC is natively supported on Polkadot so Pulse Market could run on Mythos.

However, while Blankos owners will be able to log into Pulse Market using the same email as they currently use for Mythical Market, they will have a separate wallet, which will not be able to access their MYTH balance for the Mythical Market. This suggests Pulse Market could use different infrastructure.

In the past, it was possible to bridge Blankos NFTs to Ethereum, for example, so this new market might be an opportunity for Mythical Games to bring is most iconic IP back to the EVM ecosystem.

No timeline has been provided for when Blankos NFTs will go live on Pulse Market for trading, nor if all of Mythical Games’ other games will also move to the new market in future.

In this regard, one reason Blankos makes a good test project is that its new Blankos Mobile game isn’t due until 2026 so moving over these assets doesn’t impact a live game or that many users. This means Mythical can test both the new technology and the user experience of this new stablecoin-based trading with a smaller set of OG users.

Blankos was Mythical’s first blockchain game, which was released on PC in 2020 but paused in 2023 to be remade as a mobile-first experience.
